Miriam Haskell Jewelry
In the early days of Haskell jewelry, when Frank Hess was the head designer, Haskell put no identifying marks on their jewelry. As a mater of fact it was not marked at all until about 1947. Today the early unsigned pieces are recognized from vintage art work and advertisements, and by their wonderful detail, hand work and design.

Best Brooches: Blair Waldorf
The styling on Gossip Girl is so clever. I love the fact that blair wears brooches. It's so fitting for her character. I love how she wears them at the collar, almost in place of a necklace. This is perfect for when a necklace doesnt quite work, but your outfit still needs an extra touch.

Vintage Castlecliff
I listed my first Castlecliff find today. I had never heard of them before.
Apparently they started in New York in 1918 as The Castlecliff mark was first used in 1940 and their jewelry was sold in major department stores. The famous watch maker Lucien Piccard took over the company in the late 60's.
My research led me to these great vintage ads for Castle Cliffe.

Whiting and Davis
Since I started Luxxor I have come across a couple of Whiting and Davis jewelry pieces. They were always well made and beautiful. When I found this Beautiful simple white flapper-style purse, I was surprised to see a Whiting and Davis logo inside. Of course, with a little research I found out that they were famous for their mesh purses!
They were most popular in the 1930s and came in many different colored and patterns. Here are a few examples:
